Madrid Derby Will Be Very Evenly Balanced - Milinko Pantic
Former Atletico Madrid midfielder Milinko Pantic has revealed that he would love to become the club's coach one day, but that he knows that not all dreams come true.
Pantic, who is currently a youth team coach with los Colchoneros, was on the club's shortlist to replace Abel Resino after he was fired last month.
However, even after asking the 43-year-old if he wanted to become coach, to which the answer was yes, Atletico continued looking for a trainer and eventually went for Quique Sanchez Flores.
"[Eventually] I will be on a bench somewhere - I don't know if it will be Atletico or not," Pantic told El Mundo Deportivo.
"It would be ideal, but dreams aren't always fulfilled."
Looking ahead to tonight's Madrid derby, Pantic believes that the form book and the league table will go out of the window when the sides kick off in the Vicente Calderon.
"The league table doesn't matter, nor does the form in which the teams arrive. The extra motivation is important, because everyone starts from the same position and it will be a very even game."
